AIT-STEIN once again accompanies Tereos, the world’s second largest sugar group, in its energy transition with a more virtuous solution for the environment by replacing coal boilers with a Gas boiler .
Optimization of performance and compliance with environmental requirements.
After intervening at the Connantre (51), Lillers (62), Marckolsheim (67) and Mesnil-Saint-Nicaise sites near Nesle (80), the cooperative group renews its confidence in Stein Energy by entrusting it with the design and manufacture of a Boiler with a capacity of 180 T/h of steam 45 bar / 390 °C. It will make it possible to meet the needs of its sugar site of Escaudœuvres, in the Hauts-de-France region andit will reduce co2* emissions from the site by more than 40% and nitrogen oxides and sulphur emissions by 95%*. Commissioning is scheduled for mid-April 2022 as part of the Syrup Campaign. The 3 natural gas burners, equipped with a recirculation of the fumes, will make it possible to comply with the strictest NOx** Emission Limit Values in force (≤ 40mg/Nm3).
A transversal project for the AIT-STEIN group, since its Comeco division, European manufacturer and specialist in steel-cast iron economisers, as well as equipment that withstands the most corrosive conditions at low temperatures, intervenes on this project for the design and manufacture of Air heater, delivered on last May 20.
The AIT-STEIN group and the TEREOS cooperative : a contract of trust.
This is not the first time ait-stein has replaced coal-fired boilers with gas boilersfor its customer TEREOS, since in 2020, Stein Energy intervened at their site in Lillers. Since then, our boilers have been supplying the sugar factory and distillery throughout the year. Our solutions have significantly reduced their impact on the environment, because they have reduced our customer’s energy consumption by about 10% for this site.
With this achievement, our group consolidates its leading position in supporting its customers in the energy transition and decarbonization. Our turnkey solutions, respectful of the environment, are part of projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
